Passion for What You Do
After working steadily for nearly 11 years in the lead generation and online marketing world my life took a dramatic change. I went to the Top Affiliate Challenge in July of 08. This was the first in person show I had worked at in nearly 11 years. I had an enthusiasm for meeting and networking with the contestants that tossed me into an entirely new direction.
I have always liked working with the public but I found a way to make a very nice income from behind the computer. I have 3 kids working at home was an incredible opportunity to provide a healthy income and keep them at home instead of daycare.
Since the kids are older and just about all in school I decided to research a field I had a ton of interest in, the nursing home industry. The more I researched the more I liked it. It just so happened that the nursing home industry had a place for me. They had a sales and marketing and resource development position that couldn’t be more perfect.
I have to tell you that for the last few years I did what I did more from habit and it was getting very difficult to come into my office and do my job. I lost my passion for what I was doing and my work and my income was definitely showing the effects.
God works in his own time. He puts you in places that you never dreamed you would be in. You must listen and have a little patience which is something I pray for.
For the last 50 days I have had true passion for my new job. I believe in the project I am promoting and I believe the enthusiasm I have for my work is rubbing off on my new customers. I am selling products with price tags in the $250K range and not even sweating it. That is passion. I’m doing public speaking, I am networking, I am volunteering. Doors are opening to me and my stress level is making me a happier and healthier person.
If you find yourself dragging to work start listening. The Lord has work for you to do and he wants you to do it with passion. Start listening he will provide the work, you provide the passion to get it done with spirit. You will find yourself living a much better life when do learn to work with passion.
